Ready to begin? We think you will enjoy working on this
project and want you to feel comfortable with the equipment
and methods involved. To help you gain a better
understanding of the tasks involved, we've divided the tasks
into four main divisions: GPS, Plot, Photograph, and
Transcribe. Links to each division are in the red column
to your right.
"GPS"
refers to Global Positioning Satellite. You will use a
hand-held device to obtain an exact location for the cemetery
& tombstones.
"Plot"
refers to mapping the cemetery.
"Photograph"
provides tips for taking photographs of the cemetery &
tombstones.
"Transcribe"
refers to written and electronic records you will create based
on the inscriptions on the tombstones.
Always
feel free to ask your mentor or Donald Dunaway any questions
you might have. Also use the "E-mail" link in
the right column to suggest additions and improvements for the
electronic resources provided in this WebQuest.
