Don't let this part of the task overwhelm you. It is
time-consuming, but it is also very important.
Remember, your efforts here will result in a searchable
database. If you need a little inspiration, listen to
Tim Bingaman, from PBS's series "Ancestors," discuss
the important clues tombstones may contain: Bingaman
While at the cemetery, fill out the "Headstone
Transcription form" provided by your mentor. Then,
at home or at the library, enter your data into the Franklin
Co. Cemetery database. A fun option is to go to
http://www.findagrave.com. See where the famous are
buried and enter your findings into their national database.
