You don’t need to create a web page at all. You
can upload your Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Inspiration document without
converting it to a web page. However, the end user will need the application
to open your document.
Create a Word Document
Go to Microsoft Word.
Enter your text and links.
Be sure that you press a space or the Enter key after each URL. Include the
actual URL in case your links don't work!
Pull down the File menu, choose Save. Name is something related to your name such
as jsmith595.doc
You can upload this document without saving it as a web page. However keep
the fonts simple (such as Arial or Times) because the end user must have
the same fonts that you do so see the document effectively.
Create a Web Page
Go to Microsoft Word.
Enter your text and links.
Be sure that you press a space or the Enter key after each URL. Include
the actual URL in case your links don't work!
Pull down the File menu, choose Save as Web Page.
Give it a unique one-word name (use your IUPUI username) and add the
.html such as jsmithl595.html
Notice where you are saving it on the hard drive.
Choose Save.
You can also do this with Inspiration documents. In each
case it will also create a special folder with your images or other
files. You MUST to upload both the main document and folder of images
for this to work.
